2018 Quarter 1 Stats
Quarter 1 of 2018 has come and gone. Time flies! This will be a long post with a lot of quantity number breakdowns, including full lists of every mold that I sold.
I’m not a large shop such as DGC or Infinite, but I sold about 20K discs in 2017, so it’s a decent market view, I feel.
Companies that I carried in 2017 are as follows: MVP, Axiom, Streamline, Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, Westside, Discmania, Innova, Discraft, Prodigy, Kastaplast, Millennium, Hyzer Bomb.
If a mold doesn’t show up on the list, then I didn’t sell any of them this quarter.
DISTANCE DRIVERS
I categorized anything speed 10 and above as a distance driver, based on each company’s numbers. Of course there will be border line discs that don’t use the four number flight system, but this is the way that I did it.

The big surprise here is that the Streamline Trace has dethroned the Destroyer following a huge launch of the Trace in Plasma plastic. I could hardly keep those in stock for a while. The Destroyer did hold strong, though, keeping up in the second position. I’m sure we’ll see the Destroyer back in the number one spot next quarter unless someone has another huge launch. Other new releases in the top 10 include Prodigy’s new H3V2 and H5, Latitude’s new Ballista Pro, and Axiom’s recently released Tantrum. I introduced Kastaplast to my lineup and they haven’t disappointed. I only ordered a decent sized sample setup, and the distance drivers have sold well. Molds that I have in stock, but didn’t sell any are: Aries, Avenger, Crank SS, Criminal, D6, DDX, Energy, H4, Nuke SS, Scorpius, Villain, and Vulcan.

Latitude 64 knocked it out of the park with their new Explorer. I had a feeling they would sell well, so I ordered a ton of them. They didn’t disappoint. The Innova Firebird came in second, because it is always at the top of the list. One surprise up there may be the Mint Discs Alpha. They released a new run of Sublime plastic Alphas, and it was super hot. I wish I had ordered more before they were out of stock, because my supply sold out in just a few days. The just-released Dynamic Discs Maverick made a strong showing in just 2 days to jump it up to the 14th position. Discraft launched their Sting and their Vulture in March, but those have barely sold unfortunately. For this quarter, I think I sold at least one of every fairway driver mold that I offer.

The Dynamic Discs EMac Truth and Justice take the number one and two spots this quarter. They’re always hot sellers. The MVP Vertex has launched at the number three spot on a pretty solid launch, including a nice Skulboy stamp. Really, no surprises in the midrange department this quarter. Molds that I had in stock, that didn’t sell any are: A1, A2, Archer, M1, M3, M4, M5, Manta, Meteor, Mirage, Panther, and Stratus. There are 6 Prodigy mids in that batch. Unfortunately, those have never sold good. I may order the M discs once per year, if that.

The putter category was dominated by the Axiom Envy again. The new Innova Rat came in second on a very strong launch. Discraft released their 10 year anniversary Zone in March and really helped bump Discraft up. Really, no surprises in the putter category, overall. Molds that I had in stock, but didn’t sell: Birdie, Mirage, P1, PA2, Pig, Stud.

This stat is one of the most important stats for me. It shows what’s hot, and what’s not. Obviously Innova came out as top seller this quarter, and every other quarter too. Pretty much everything in this list is as expected. Discraft got a bit of a boost from the 10 year anniversary Zone. If it wasn’t for that launch, and that launch alone, they would be down below Streamline. The new Sting and Vulture have yet to take off. Hopefully they do! I brought Kastaplast into the store on a minimal launch (under 100 discs), and they have sold great. Millennium/HyzerBomb is no surprise. I have had what’s left of them on sale on the website for 15% off for 6 months, and they still don’t sell. Please buy them so I can make room for more Kastaplast!
Combined Companies
One last pointless stat that I think is fun to look at is combining companies into who molds them or their fan bases. Like I said, this is a pointless stat, but still interesting to stats people.
